Description: Enabling the "Register Copy Handler" option in TeraCopy Preferences causes severe graphical visual artifacts/corruption in the Windows 11 Explorer context menu (overlapping and pixelated text/lines). Additionally, right-clicking files while TeraCopy is running causes the TeraCopy application itself to immediately crash.
Technical Details:
Root Cause: The shell extension registered by TeraCopy under the
System / Drag&Drop Handlercategory interferes withexplorer.exerendering and triggers an unhandled exception or crash within the active TeraCopy process when the context menu is invoked.Troubleshooting performed:
System file integrity verified via DISM and
sfc /scannow.Isolated via ShellExView: Standard
Context Menuhandlers were cleared. Disabling TeraCopy's specific handler under theSystem/Drag&Dropcategory immediately stopped the context menu visual bug and prevented TeraCopy from crashing.Unchecking "Register Copy Handler" in TeraCopy Preferences permanently resolves both the rendering corruption and the TeraCopy app crashes.
Workaround: Unchecking "Register Copy Handler" while keeping "Add to Explorer context menu" active restores full system stability.
Environment: Windows 11 Workstation / TeraCopy Pro (latest build).
