Copying a file a few mb smaller then 4gb to FAT32 fails with filesize error

hello, whenever i copy a file using teracopy from NTFS to fat 32 and the filesize is near 4GB limit of fat 32 teracopy throws a error message

these files copy just fine with explorer. they are just under the 4,294,967,295 byte limit of fat 32 (65,535 bytes less then the limit)

i have no idea why this happens with tera copy, but its annoying as iwanty to ensure checksums match easily between the backup and the restore

    I tried to contact them about this way back June 2019, but I was met only with a non-solution bounceback: “format it in NTFS“.


    I couldn’t link back to that post now since they may have purged old content.

    Anyway, for the record, it seems it’s been fixed now, at least from my usage of v4 RC2. (able to copy 4GiB-1 or 4,294,967,295 bytes)

    note this isnt file path length limited as i popped the full file path of the source and destination into notepad++ (not a programmer, i like how it saves what i type as temp files) and the source was 138 characters. the destination is 80 characters long. i do have my filesystem patched for long paths though.
